Description

Although winning a writing scholarship earlier in life, the opportunity did not arise to fulfil this ambition until Val's mind was free to concentrate on this creative outlet. Saying goodbye to their regular jobs, Val and her beloved husband Don, lived out of a small off-road van for five years, travelling throughout Australia, spending the majority of their time in the outback areas photographing the wildlife and writing about their experiences.

Val has been able to fulfil her love of writing, first completing an autobiography, then a children’s book detailing her travels, in the hope of educating young children to the delights and wonders of Australia. Her first novel was a children’s adventure story, The Magic Rock aimed at 8 to 11yo. This was followed by the adult novels, ‘Enya’, ‘Enemy on Home Soil’ and her latest novel, ‘Invisible Threat’.

Encouraged by the positive responses to her novels, Val is currently working on her next novel, setting her storylines in Australia, a country she loves.
