Kyffins Reserve

Kyffins Reserve is located approximately 12km north of the town centre, on the banks of Lake Mulwala. Access is via Corowa Road (through Mulwala), and the reserve offers over one kilometre of shoreline and bush camping.

Hinches Beach is located approximately 10km west of the town centre, through Mulwala and off the Mulwala-Barooga Road. Access is via the first entrance to the forest, and free campsites for caravans, motorhomes and tents are available.

Boomanoomana State Forest

The Boomanoomana State Forest is located approximately 18km west of the town centre, through Mulwala and off the Mulwala-Barooga Road. Access is via the second or third entrance to the forest, and camping is available at:

  • Sandy Beach
  • Little Pebble Beach
  • One Tree Beach 

 

 

CAMPING SAFETY

Please take note of the following guidelines for your safety:

  • Avoid camping or parking under large trees, as they may drop branches without warning.
  • Be aware of river hazards, including strong currents, deep water, submerged objects and rope.
  • Do not dive or jump into the river, or use swings attached to trees or other structures.

Dump Point

The Yarrawonga dump point is located at Yarrawonga Showgrounds. Dunlop Street entrance. This dump point is free. Road access is Gravel. Sat Nav Coordinate: -36.01803,146.00749

The Mulwala dump point is located at Owen Bridges Park. Corowa Road, Mulwala. This dump point is free. Road access is Asphalt. Sat Nav Coordinate: -35.985677, 146.009325

Shower

There are no free showers located in Yarrawonga. Yarrawonga Riverlands (38 Brears Road, Yarrawonga) offer amenities for $5 per person during low-mid season. 

There are free showers located at Apex Park (Pool Avenue, Mulwala) The showers is cold water only. The amenities are closed/ locked every evening.

FAQs

 

Question: Can I go fishing for Murray Cod?

Answer: Yes, ONLY when cod season is open. The closed season for Murray cod is from 1 September to 30 November inclusive. You must obtain a current fishing licence or pension card. Lake Mulwala downstream to Tocumwal is NSW waterways. You can purchase a fishing license here. You must abide to rules & regulations, find these here
